Penguin Prison - Don't Fuck With My Money

Not afraid to wear his 80s influences on his sleeve, Penguin Prison's synthpop is a dream to listen to, and his vocals make it increasingly likely that he could take the charts by storm in the future...

Carolina Liar - Show Me What I'm Looking For

You've probably forgotten about this, but backtrack to a couple of years ago and this was one of the biggest tracks around, and became the signature song for the Swedish-American band.

Bombay Bicycle Club - Shuffle

It's not exactly the freshest of songs now, or is it the most unknown, but my lord, they're definitely one of the best bands around right now.

Gemini - Graduation

A child prodigy who is set to break to take the world of dubstep by storm.

Givers - Meantime

Apologies for the lack of blog posts over the past couple of days - been really busy so this has kinda fallen inactive. Don't think I've forgotten about it though! Here's your latest nugget of indie-pop brilliance.

The Naked And Famous - Eyes

For the electro-minded music lover, New Zealand has become such a fascinating place in the past couple of years. With lots of the latest synth kids hitting the scene coming lately from down under (Australia's also a big culprit) it seems that there's been a contamination of the water there. I say contamination, but that sounds negative. Infiltra..no...Infest..no..Well, you get the idea. And it's wonderful.

Metronomy - The Bay

Oh look! Another summery song in one of my blog posts! What are the chances, eh?

Washed Out - Belong

Lo-fi vocals? Check. Chillwave background? Check. 80s inspired workout music video-cum-random space disco? Big check. Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't otherwise been introduced, meet Washed Out.

South Central - Demons

Ah, the wonders of advertising.

Röyksopp - So Easy/Eple

Time for our first blast from the past. Having recently bought Melody AM, the decade-old début album from Norwegian electro duo Röyksopp (despite being a big fan of their work I had never owned their first album), I was surprised to discover that I already knew the opener, "So Easy". Give it a listen and you probably have too.

Battles - Ice Cream

Another band that appears to be basking in the creative light that the summer brings, American math rock trio Battles' lead single from their latest album "Gloss Drop" (which I personally find has a strangely attractive cover) takes its inspiration from everyone's favourite Italian frozen dessert. A very competitve market.

Fear of Tigers - I Can Make The Pain Disappear

It had to happen sooner or later. If you were ever to ask me who my favourite artist was, there'd probably be a very long, dramatic pause before I would say "Fear of Tigers". There are dozens upon dozens of artists that I adore the music of but his music is just on another level.

Polarsets - Sunshine Eyes

These guys, and this song in particular, are my personal obsession at the minute. With a summery aura and a shimmering video to go along with it, this is THE song of the warmer months so far. And yet, with all of the influences of the big burning ball in the sky, the three-piece indie-tronica group Polarsets hail from Newcastle. Wonders will never cease.

'sup

Welcome to my music blog! So yeah, basically I had the crazy impulsive idea last night listening to my iPod that I should start a music blog, on the basis that I have absolutely no experience writing creatively. Perfect plan, I think you'll find.
