Bloc Party - Song For Clay

The pounding opening track from, on a personal level, one of the greatest albums of all time.
After achieving commercial success with their 2005 début "Silent Alarm", it was up to Bloc Party to follow this success up and to build on what they had already achieved, and boy, did Kele and the gang deliver.

Producing singles such as "I Still Remember", "The Prayer" and "Flux" - the latter signalling a sign of the more electronic Bloc Party they would develop into - "A Weekend In The City" shot in at #2 on the UK album chart, and spawned two Top 10s for the band, one of which, "The Prayer", climbed to the dizzy heights of #4, Bloc Party's biggest success to date.

Enough with the facts and figures and critical acclaim however, as one of the highlights of the album comes from the very start. Building from a quiet falsetto start from vocalist Kele Okereke, the song builds using powerful drum kicks and grungy guitar strums. Culminating in a sing-along "Dissapear Here" final section, the track was a welcome sign of things to come from the quartet. Check it out!
