Metronomy - The Bay

Oh look! Another summery song in one of my blog posts! What are the chances, eh?

From slow and humble beginnings, the four-piece British electro group Metronomy were formed in 1999, originally as a trio. Now, with the release of their third studio album "The English Riviera", the departure of Gabriel Stebbing and the acquisition of new members Anna Prior and Gbenga Adelekan, it's all gotten very confusing for the group. However, that hasn't stopped them from producing the goods, and with their latest single "The Bay", Metronomy appear to be on fine form.

With a video full of scantily-clad sunbathers and swooping, travel documentary-like shots of sunny Torbay and Torquay (*cough*), the song's synths and sing-along chorus have proved it to be every bit as much of a summer anthem as any other band could produce.
